The website writerslounge.net was established in 1997 under the name "Lonesome Writer's Lounge". It always has been and still is a free and open platform for international writers to present their work to a larger international audience. Looking back at the website's history of more than 13 years, writerslounge.net has been a small but true pioneer venture, one of the first websites consisting of user generated content only, and offering community-like services long before "Web 2.0" or "Social Network" even existed.
