»Daddy's Girl«
by Laura Arman
I'm sorry that I made you read to me the BFG,
I'm sorry that I asked you to dress and clothe me.
I'm sorry that I made you tuck me in and turn out the light,
I'm sorry that I made you put the stabilizers back on my bike.
I'm sorry that I made you wear a wig and grow a beard,
I'm sorry that I walked in on you squating my dear,
I'm sorry that I made you watch "Home Alone" every day,
I'm sorry that I went to the treehouse when I ran away,
I'm sorry that I made you make fairy cakes for me,
I'm sorry that I threw a tantrum while you were watching MTV.
I'm sorry that I made you drive around to every Toys R Us,
I'm sorry that I made all the real problems with us.
But what I'm really sorry is that I'm such a daddy's girl,
Freud would have a field day, if he knew what I could do.
I treated you like my father when you are my lover,
And now you've gone and left me for a self-sufficient other.

I treated you like my father when you are my lover,
And now you've gone and left me for a self-sufficient other.
