»Wake up«
by Laura Arman
You are going to wake up
one morning and see
that I am gone
and you are free,
I no longer will
have time,
to pander
to your needs.
I won't be
answering the phone,
I won't be
at home,
I won't pick you up
from your drunken stupour,
or take your coldness
like its a threat.
I can't cry anymore,
if you say
something
you shouldn't say.
And I wont stand
there while you
shout
and then hit me.
If you don't call,
I won't worry
anymore,
or even care.
And if you leave me
waiting all night
I will only
get on with my life.
Now you woke up
today to see,
I have finally
become me.
I am no longer
a slave
to your crusade
I am me.
But when you wake up
tommorow and see,
that I am the one
who is free,
you will want to
be with me,
you can't
- its too late.
one morning and see
that I am gone
and you are free,
I no longer will
have time,
to pander
to your needs.
I won't be
answering the phone,
I won't be
at home,
I won't pick you up
from your drunken stupour,
or take your coldness
like its a threat.
I can't cry anymore,
if you say
something
you shouldn't say.
And I wont stand
there while you
shout
and then hit me.
If you don't call,
I won't worry
anymore,
or even care.
And if you leave me
waiting all night
I will only
get on with my life.
Now you woke up
today to see,
I have finally
become me.
I am no longer
a slave
to your crusade
I am me.
But when you wake up
tommorow and see,
that I am the one
who is free,
you will want to
be with me,
you can't
- its too late.
