»Evening Shadow«
There's a thousand books upon my shelf,
A million pictures roamin' in my mind.
But I've never learned to see myself,
This weary world just made my eyes go blind.
Well, I burnt the bridges that I'd crossed,
Forgot what I'd been through and lookin' for.
Then you came to pick up what I'd lost,
We made for south to find a foreign shore.
Oh, I wish we would never ever part,
May you stay my longing, loving wife.
Though sometimes you live a lonely life
In the evening shadow of my heart.
Well, you taught me to get through the night,
You even told me secrets of the sun.
But I couldn't step into the light,
My soul of solitude's still on the run.
Well, I tried to love you oh so true,
My true love seems to be a turnin' wheel.
May the skies be black or bright and blue,
Some feelings you can hardly learn to feel.
Yes, I wish we would never ever part,
May you stay my longing, loving wife.
Though sometimes you live a lonely life
In the evening shadow of my heart.
