»To be human«

by Zandile Mboneni-Chansa

Of earth we are created,
Like trees that stand tall,
as of earth they are born and fed.
Like all creatures, Mother Earth nurtures and nourishes us into perfection.

Look at the stones by the river side, for them all the tides pass and shape.
For we are like them as God is the tide that shapes us.
We are chiselled everyday and for perfection we endure the toughest test.

To be human,
we are one and same with all beings from earth we came, but of perfection we are made.
