»Before the Day«
(by Deon Thomas)
When I woke up this morning, as peer across the room I see the sun as it bounces off of the wall. I sat up in bed and I wiped the sleep out of my eyes. I got out of bed and had a big stretch. I slowly walked to the bath room and washed my face. Then the aroma of bacon, eggs and toast drew me to the kitchen. When I got in the kitchen my lady was standing, looking as beautiful as an angel. She turns and looks at me; the sun slightly kisses her cheek and its brightness illuminates the beautiful of her eyes. She smiles and says good morning. I responded and said "good morning to you beautiful", then I kiss her soft lips. After breakfast, we both get ready the long day we had ahead of us. We then walk toward the door and kiss each other and say I love you and have a nice day. We then part ways. She gets in her car and I get in mine and then we both pull off for work.
