»Home Affairs«
Things are getting rowdy
And stuff is thrown about.
Cracks appear down the lane
And our home has broken down.
Lies are peddled for survival,
Thugs are compensated for forgery
Comradeship now knows no valour
Affairs in our home are down –
The glorification of falsehood.
Nhlanhla asked for an ID book
But was given a death certificate.
A 17 yrs old Bongi
Was declared married these past 8 yrs.
Our children are born to be vampires
And ours is a home of a new cult.
Home Affairs is upside-down
The head has vamoosed
And cronyism is in control.
We wait for the bond of our home
Come April 22.
And stuff is thrown about.
Cracks appear down the lane
And our home has broken down.
Lies are peddled for survival,
Thugs are compensated for forgery
Comradeship now knows no valour
Affairs in our home are down –
The glorification of falsehood.
Nhlanhla asked for an ID book
But was given a death certificate.
A 17 yrs old Bongi
Was declared married these past 8 yrs.
Our children are born to be vampires
And ours is a home of a new cult.
Home Affairs is upside-down
The head has vamoosed
And cronyism is in control.
We wait for the bond of our home
Come April 22.
