»Abuse«

by Shirley Joan Von Weichardt

Snowy white walls, sloping green lawns –
Childrens' laughter as they play -
Handsome father, pretty mother -
Wouldn't you like to live this way?

But if you peep behind closed doors,
A diff'rent picture you would see,
For behind the façade there lies
Untold horror and misery.
