»Dysfunctional Families«

by Shirley Joan Von Weichardt

Every family is dysfunctional – that's true -
And that includes everyone – even me and you.
We're born with the fates stacked heavily against us all -
Fates that are striving for our eventual downfall.
It doesn't help to cry 'cause you've been dealt a bad deck -
Grab life by the horns otherwise you'll end up a wreck.
There is one redeeming route that we can choose to take,
But some find "The road less travelled" a hard choice to make.
Life cannot steer you – so be the captain of your fate.
Write your own story – one you'd be happy to relate -
You don't want to be a floater in the stream of life –
So go ahead – steer your own course and avoid the strife.
