»Family Honour«
by Tiema Muindi
One time
I thought I was strong
But now
Pieces are my hopes
Ashes are my dreams
Blown away
By the wind
There's no eye
That has not wept
There's no pain
That I have not had
And scars of life
Are my tattoos
From the highway of life
That I have walked through
That sometimes I wonder
Where then lies my destination
But you are so young
That I should give you
The mantle of life
That you should move on
Not through the storm
That I encountered
Not through the potholes of life
That I stumbled upon
Not through the crossroads
Where I lost
The compass of my dreams
I thought I was strong
But now
Pieces are my hopes
Ashes are my dreams
Blown away
By the wind
There's no eye
That has not wept
There's no pain
That I have not had
And scars of life
Are my tattoos
From the highway of life
That I have walked through
That sometimes I wonder
Where then lies my destination
But you are so young
That I should give you
The mantle of life
That you should move on
Not through the storm
That I encountered
Not through the potholes of life
That I stumbled upon
Not through the crossroads
Where I lost
The compass of my dreams
