»Wise Counsel«

by Tiema Muindi

When you feel that
You are done
The ashes that you are
Also gone
The hope that you had
About to drown
Your foundation of toiling
Is also blown
Think not of giving up

When the paths of life
Lead to a sudden end
And whatever one does
Seem to have a bend
Resources in scarcity
But nobody to lend
Think not of giving up

This then is my counsel
I give thee in a scroll
Every calamity
Has got a reason
To every person
It comes as a season
When you face it
Let it be a lesson
That when you smile
Tomorrow
There will be a reason
