»Distant Places«

by Casey Samantha Boshoff

They say life is so great,
Well what happened to mine?
Where are the flowers in the spring,
And the loving friends?
The sun doesn't shine anymore
Its just rain, always rain,
No warm bright days
To swim in the pool,
Always cold, windy days
No place to go.

I fell isolated in a cold dungeon
Not knowing when things will change,
But wondering why
They say life is so great,
I'm losing it, all of it,
My closest friends
The people I care for most.

I don't have enough energy,
I need to get away,
The noisy people-anger me,
The funny people-annoy me,
The friendly people-scare me,
They won't leave,
They've already left.

I live in a cold distant world
Where there's no place for me,
No warm love for people to stay,
It's just cold and distant,
Afraid to say hello,
Scared to lose another,
Another what? Friend or enemy?
No, just someone I care for,
I've ended up in a distant place.
