»Unknowingly«

by Casey Samantha Boshoff

The love I feel for you slaughters me
With every beat of my heart
The thundering pumps germinate
Sharp, stabbing, striking throbs
You leave me here lying lifeless
Surrounded by dark red staining ink
You are the one I think of
Yet, you leave me here...unknowingly

The love I feel for you murders me
With every look you give me
The light never seems to appear
Remote, reserved, restricted worlds
At a distance you remain
Like a deadly stranger
Your laser rays sent in love
Pearce through my broken heart...unknowingly

The love I feel for you assassinates me
With every hug from your arms
You draw the lethal life from me
Silently, slowly, strangling breath
Crushing all I have left
Taking me from pieces to dust
Cremated you leave me here
Isolated you watch me fade...unknowingly
