»The Witness«
The Daddy hit the Mommy and the Child felt the pain
The Daddy hit the Bottle and the Child will do the same
The Mommy cried at night and the Child got the blame
The Mommy became reclusive and the child was ashamed
The Daddy lost his job and the Mommy had to find work
The Mommy had only brought home enough for food and the Daddy went berserk
The Daddy could not drink anymore so instead the Mommy's dignity was consumed
The Mommy reached the point where she was so numb her very fibre was entombed
The Child knows all about this, Being The Witness
The Child grows up to face this world with a toolcase of life experiences from their childhood
The Child seeks out, as we all do, Someone kind and attractive who treats them real good
The Child ends up with an abusive partner, a liar, Cheat or tyrant
The result of lessons well taught by their abusive parent
The Child will marry and more of their lessons will be lived out
Like how to control somebody with a flat hand and a shout
The Marriage will bring forth another child into this universe
To play witness to the abuse, This constant wretched curse
This child grew up to reject the inherent abuse witnessed during their upbringing
This child chose care over violence and unconditional love instead of drinking
The Witness can choose their path and how to testify their lives
The Witness can choose how to treat their precious Husbands and their Wives
You need to admit your a Witness before you can stop the cycle
You can heal yourself with this life purpose type miracle
So Mommys and Daddys who may read this, Take care with the lives of the fragile, The Witness
