»An Angel in the Night«

by Casey Samantha Boshoff

Dressed in white
Covered by the light
She watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Sweet as candy
Colourful with might
Covered in sugar
My JellyTot still in sight
Because she watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Smile always shared
Voices never unheard
Injury never alone to bare
Only because she watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Pain I inflicted
Betrayal I amused
Heartache I am now accused
Yet she watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Words not spoken
Vocals not heard
Hugs now seemingly absurd
She constantly watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Silently tears ran
Disappointingly heads turned
That was the day I learned
She was watching over me
Like an angel in the night

Lost in the wilderness
Alone to the sight
My JellyTot never taking flight
Always there she watched over me
Like an angel in the night

Down on a knee
Sadness breaking hearts
Security once known
Now part of the past
Yet she still watches over me like an angel in the night

Now mending the pieces
And staring again
Back the the beginning
Is where we will end
Only because when I wasn't looking
She watched over me
Like an angel in the night
