»She«

by Laura Arman

She walks,
I walk,
She talks,
I talk,
She dances,
I dance
in the ever moving velocity of her mind numbing trance.
In the light of her golden hair she swiftly changed to black,
with the dress she craftly handed, to cover her scarred back.
Through mirror that reflected a glassy persona,
she walked away and sealed the door to the world that did disown her.
She sing's
I sing,
She laugh's
I laugh,
She cries
I cry,
at the thought of her glance on all that had gone awry.
Her cheerful laughter that crumbled into dust,
and the sweet but bitter love she held, that was maginified by lust.
All summoned in a soul defined by what she used to be,
but forsaken and unsought because she forgot how to set it free.
I walk,
She stops,
I stare
She's lost,
I touch
She breaks,
at the brush of one's easily enchanting embrace.
In searching for a meaning that would bring her back to square one,
leaving behind the memories that carved her but are gone,
She unveils the curtain, that masked the light,
from all that was certain, in the cloak-and-dagger fight,
for her life.
