»Emerging Images«

by Christopher Kudyahakudadirwe

Imagine imagining images emerging
From a state in a state of decay
Where there's no food, no water,
No money, no harvest, no justice
And no hope for political justice!

Imagine war lords inflicting terror
On defenceless, hungry villagers
Forcing their will power to bend
Under the pressure of intimidation.
Oh, imagine imagining such images!

Imagine our house of stone
Crumbling to a heap of ruins
Right there before our very eyes
While we sing praise to demagogues.
Just imagine these emerging images!

Imagine starving for democracy
While THEY feed on capitalism
Farting foul corruption and nepotism
Turning talks into dangerous jokes.
Imagine, imagine, just imagine!

  •  Mahiya Alex: "Another true representation of the state of affairs in our great continent-Africa. You represent the people's pains like I have never read before."
