»June 16«

by Lebohang Ramatswi

As June 16 unravels

As we teens are about to go through
a road less travelled.

As we are still treated like rebels in our own native land
and not given a helping hand.

The youth of June 16 sacrificed their lives
so that I became a proud teen to witness these times.

The green eyed monster still haunts the youth
and has devoured the efforts of June 16.

But I'm holding my head up high
Celebrating June 16 teeeeeen
