»Remember to heal«
It restricts your movement
Sets you in a solitary confinement
You become the warden
The prisoner of your own prison
It presses your puffy heart hard like a stone
It eats your inside slowly like cancer
Brings that uncomfortable feeling
It causes hiccups, nausea
You can't puke and help yourself on it can you?
I'm not asking you to drag yourself on
Nor to leave yourself behind
I'm just asking you to shift for ventilation purposes
Liberation is not a term to annoy the ignorant
Liberation is the state of mind, better defined
By Individuals for themselves as synonym for freedom
I'm not asking you to forget
Past is a pivotal part of your history
It is your story
It does not matter how good or bad it is
Scandalous, bloody, daunting, vicious
It is your experience
Your past doesn't determine your future
You are the pilot of your own Aircraft
Tomorrow affords you an opportunity to try again
I'm asking you to give tomorrow and this present time a chance
I'm not asking you to hold back the tears
But to keep your eyes on the road
To be able to see and fill the gap
when the opportunity avails its self
I am not asking you to forget no- never
But to forgive the past to negotiate and heal the present
To allow the sunshine to warm your heart in this new dawn
For the beautiful human being inside you to rise
Promise me now will you,
Will you remember to heal?
Sets you in a solitary confinement
You become the warden
The prisoner of your own prison
It presses your puffy heart hard like a stone
It eats your inside slowly like cancer
Brings that uncomfortable feeling
It causes hiccups, nausea
You can't puke and help yourself on it can you?
