Other poems by Casey Samantha Boshoff:
»Then would you know?«
If the darkness came walking
Through my door
And took me by the hand
So I could blink no more
Would you know that He loves you?
Would you know that He cares?
Would you know that He sent me
To say thank you for always being there?
If you slowly begin to cry
And realise my body no longer has heat
Remember my intentions were pure
And my life purely part of the elite
Would you know the pain I felt inside?
Would you know our happiness wasn't a lie?
Would you know that I longed for you all alone late that night?
If the twinkle was taken from my eye
And the rhythm from my heartbeat
As I become a distant lie
Listen to the last words I will speak
Would you know that I love you?
Would you know that I still care?
Would you know that without you
I was seemingly incomplete?
Through my door
And took me by the hand
So I could blink no more
Would you know that He loves you?
Would you know that He cares?
Would you know that He sent me
To say thank you for always being there?
If you slowly begin to cry
And realise my body no longer has heat
Remember my intentions were pure
And my life purely part of the elite
Would you know the pain I felt inside?
Would you know our happiness wasn't a lie?
Would you know that I longed for you all alone late that night?
If the twinkle was taken from my eye
And the rhythm from my heartbeat
As I become a distant lie
Listen to the last words I will speak
Would you know that I love you?
Would you know that I still care?
Would you know that without you
I was seemingly incomplete?
