»Mystery Feeling«

by Ryan Gordon Penn

Once upon a time is not how this one started
It's more like 'Once upon a girl Broken Hearted'
Lost a promise of love, that's now departed
And took the road less traveled, love uncharted

After years of rejection which caused such pain
In your time of loss, I was your gain
Going through the motions of a life so mundane
Complexities of relations I'd rather not explain

I have watched others declare love for less
Falling in luck, no need to impress
Taking for granted that which they possess
Cheating care, while carrying on regardless

The mist cleared and you were my vision
Take her or leave her what an easy decision
Time spent with you in our own dimension
Basking in delight, in the absence of tension

What have I done to deserve an opportunity so appealing
Within which lies the open gate to the path of healing
Tickle me, Touch me, and leave me reeling
I'm possessed by a Mystery Feeling
