»Devil's Monopoly«

by Kelly Attrill

The buzz of the city softens
as the people decide to go home.

A hard day at work, she goes home to be alone.

Her plant sits they same as it did when she left it

She sighs and reminisces
"kind of boring" she has to admit.

Once young and in love everything was full of life

Now an independant women, not a mother, not a wife.

Not longing for that feeling that somebody misses you

Not longing for that reason to tell him before you go – what you going to do.

Her money keeps her busy
it keeps her satisfied

It is the one, that made things like this,
the money seemed to stay by her side.

Fallen so deeply into the devil's clever game

she didn't even realise things can never be the same.
