»Near The End«

by Larry Lenwell

Once again I am haunted by the chilling air that surrounds me
The bridge is long and no traffic at hand as I look into the sea
To jump into the darkness below and have my life flash before my eyes
I know that halfway down I will want someone to hear my cries

But they won't hear my muffled voice
All they will say is that I made the wrong choice
