»Street Child«

by Christopher Kudyahakudadirwe

When I chose this life
I thought that the future
Was pregnant of life's niceties
With it I thought
I would smile my true smile
With it I thought
I would laugh my deep laughter
With it I thought
I would shed my real tears
With it I thought
I would see my true self
With it I thought
I would touch my true image
But alas! I was cheated.
