»When is my turn«

by Alexis Mabotho Rantloane

They tell me all the time
U still young, you have a lot of time
Love and romance will find you
Don't rush it, you will find it soon
And I have been waiting and waiting
While the world carries on with their love making
When is it my turn?
My turn to indulge in this joy
Being loved by a cute boy
I seek the feeling that others feel
I want to know if it's real
When is it my turn
Will it ever come to me
Will God or the world let it be
When is it my turn
To love and accept his flaws
I keep knocking on the wrong doors
It's like they don't see me
All of me and what could be
There is a bigger picture
And I could be your teacher
When is it my turn
You see I have observed so much
That I have become the expert of things like such
I know what love is
And no it's not in the kiss
That can be taught
Like romance can be bought
I know I would be the perfect lover
If u could just be my loyal partner
When is my turn.
