»Barriers To Success«

by Thabani Ray Ngwenya

The higher a man soars on wings of success
The greater his potential to fall
And the loftier the horseback of achievement
The longer and harder the fall.

The more a boy raises his head above the rest
The greater the tendency to look down on others
And the taller a man becomes
The greater the propensity not to see anyone else.

The faster the vehicle of desire
The fatal the impact on crash
Into the brick wall of misery
And the irreversible the consequences thereof.

The mightier the wall of realistic dreams
The more difficult it is to climb
And the stronger the chain to tug
The more men to pull.

The clearer the objective
The more motivation to achieve it
And the more vivid a goal
The greater the focus to score.

The more barriers to success
The more prayerful one ought to be
And the higher he will climb
On the ladder of undisputable success.
