If love ever was to be melancholic it would be tonight
Time spent with you was time spent wrestling demons, because in my mind: I never planned on loving you but I did;resented your touch but the senses craved it, and all this introspection gave me a most cheerful fright
Betrayed trust, brawling peace, fashionable disgrace, misguided faith in you...oh Delilah my Delilah why do I love hating you so
Looking back on us wounds me
What we never had pricked and bruised me
And brimming are my eyes, longing...hopelessly longing
For such a day when I will embelish you with the flowers of my love
When I will hold you in my arms through the sundering night
When I will hold you close to me: just hold you: till dusk sets in
But I let that memory wither away in oblivion
Because yo are the glow which lights up the horizon I can never reach
The secret rumoured to be confided in the crescent moon
Only a woman can make a man complete
Only you can give yourself to me, and me alone...and I would love you absolutely
This is why we can't be, Delilah, love of my life, how I wish I could love you, but I'm just a kid with a poem
