»Secrets«
I actually thought you loved me
You told me that every day
How was I so blind as not to see
That you could do me wrong in such a way
I gave you my love, my heart, and soul
But yet you just tossed them aside
I flew over oceans on wings I feared most
Just to find the deadly secrets that you would hide
The anger inside strikes me
As hard as a brick to the wall
How can such an emotion take me
And grip me just like a ball
Why did you hide your lies
You should have let your secrets be known
I know our love could have handled the tides
Of all the secrets that Death would show
Now I'm here dying alone
Without a hand to hold
I would have rejected you if I'd known
About the secrets you never told
I'm willing to let live and forget
If you let me back into your heart
Because forever in my life you will set
As my greatest loves first start
You told me that every day
How was I so blind as not to see
That you could do me wrong in such a way
I gave you my love, my heart, and soul
But yet you just tossed them aside
I flew over oceans on wings I feared most
Just to find the deadly secrets that you would hide
The anger inside strikes me
As hard as a brick to the wall
How can such an emotion take me
And grip me just like a ball
Why did you hide your lies
You should have let your secrets be known
I know our love could have handled the tides
Of all the secrets that Death would show
Now I'm here dying alone
Without a hand to hold
I would have rejected you if I'd known
About the secrets you never told
I'm willing to let live and forget
If you let me back into your heart
Because forever in my life you will set
As my greatest loves first start
