»Tidal Force«
Just before dawn on a lonely shore,
I trudge the sands walked by many before,
The water entices me with her cool glaze,
And I find myself swept back by her – in a daze.
I look around me and all I see is ocean and gloom,
Oh! An overwhelming sense of loss and impending doom.
The darkness evaporates into a light shade of grey,
I am firmly in her clutches I realize in dismay.
I implore the familiar surroundings for me to save.
"Don't abandon me in this watery grave!"
They hear me, but let fate take her course.
For hasn't this scene played before in nature's laws?
So as I get sucked in and my last breath I take,
I ask, "God, why do thee me, your son forsake?"
The waves curl and froth in their unexpected delight,
I am raised by their power and the grey turns to light.
Instead of sinking, I am now riding and towards the light flying;
"Is this what I read as we depart this world dying?"
I escape the waves that have gained gruesome faces,
Some resemble me in my life in different places.
An offering in a chalice awaits me all laid out and ready,
"Why, isn't that what I had prepared long ago already?"
I trudge the sands walked by many before,
The water entices me with her cool glaze,
And I find myself swept back by her – in a daze.
I look around me and all I see is ocean and gloom,
Oh! An overwhelming sense of loss and impending doom.
