»Dear Angel«
Is it true that I can fly
dear Angel?
My spirit rises from body
Freedom fills me up
pushing me higher
I see my body
chained with the shackles that bind
shackles from society
keeping me from clouds high
I labour every day
bosses, colleagues, work
I see me tired
trying to break free.
Oh, dear Angel
can I really fly?
I feel my spirit
floating down
my body anxiously awaiting its return
I lost the faith
Oh dear Angel
let me fly again
Let me feel the freedom of a child
My spirit in my body
wanting to break away
the world is holding me back
Rebel! Rebel!
I just want to be free
Oh dear Angel
Is it true that I can fly?
dear Angel?
My spirit rises from body
Freedom fills me up
pushing me higher
I see my body
chained with the shackles that bind
shackles from society
keeping me from clouds high
I labour every day
bosses, colleagues, work
I see me tired
trying to break free.
Oh, dear Angel
can I really fly?
I feel my spirit
floating down
my body anxiously awaiting its return
I lost the faith
Oh dear Angel
let me fly again
Let me feel the freedom of a child
My spirit in my body
wanting to break away
the world is holding me back
Rebel! Rebel!
I just want to be free
Oh dear Angel
Is it true that I can fly?

Ashok Kumar Madhunlall: "A lovely poem. It reminds me that shackles and freedom exits in the brain. It starts there. We can be free yet shackled, we can be shackled yet free."
