by Amy Boucher

These toxic tears of mine
are flowing downwards dark, bitter and wild
these toxic tears of mine
are keeping me company inside this room
I feel so tired so confused
why does life have to make me choose?
between what is right and wrong
god I wish I was strong
but instead im here again
these for walls my only friend

It's twisting and turning inside my head
feelings and thoughts I assumed where dead
every shadow has its ghost now
wrought upon the floor
I gotta lock that open door
to scared of what lies instore for me

Have you ever felt alone in a crowded room?
lie hidden amid the gloom
am I too blind to see
its control over me
I try to recoil my head in shame
you try to shift the blame
until I'm here again
the four walls my only friend

wipe away the toxic tears
cradle myself amid my fears
build a haven in my head
rosy flowers, purple skies
shield myself from your lies
and as the tears spiral down
this fabricated world will crash around
