»The Rope«

by Mary Kettle

The rope is all frayed and torn
unraveling as I speak
I tried so hard to keep a grip
but from my hands it slips
Hang on I say just one more day
see what tomorrow brings
but when all is felt is sadness pain
Why when nothing comes of what you seek
There is no peace of mind
No healing from above
as the rope slowly unravels more
I seek forgiveness
from the ones I love
My eyes are so heavy my heart as well
i wish I could be strong
but how, just tell me how.
