»Torrential Rain«

by Berto Kamp

We were in love stealing stars
Sailed the universe on borrowed ships that had no masts
I thought then things happened to soon knowing I would never reach the moon
Love was in every place
Then it happened as if it was a monsoon
My heart was left no were to be found
Yes the torrential rain had it drowned
Slowly it slipped away leaving me with only a gargantuan pain
What was I to do an empty place that was filled to soon?
Filled with all that I did not want
Emptiness and that frightening pain
Was it meant to be over and over again?
Leaving the gushing river open for the enemy
The one that had once succeeded and made me bleed
To take charge and complicate my head
Move the marbles around as if it was meant
I thought the chess game had been sound
That the pawn had won the game and all was found
Instead I had failed
No more did I pass the moon
Only darkness was my shinning tune
Whistling words that no one could hear
My mind that no longer did fear
Madness had taken its toll
I was destroyed yes beyond control
