»Monsters & Clowns«

by Berto Kamp

I listen to the voices in my head
Something I could not mend
Who is listening to me?
Maybe someone whom I cannot see
Twirling and sauntering around
I see the figures smiling at me like a bunch of clowns
Big red noses and silly hats on their heads
Their eyes empty instead
Laughing without creating a sound
Feet not touching the ground
Swirling aimlessly around
My eyes trying to muffle the glare
I myself pulling out my hair
Deep into the darkness I hide
The monsters are buried down deep inside
I am asking you why?
Monsters, clowns who is on my side
Escape or will I die
