»A Pottage Man«

by Berto Kamp

I that am imperishable one as life goes on by
On the outside this is not a lie
Knowing that I can survive
Or do you think otherwise
Always being taken for a ride
Not showing my true colours
Only what I harbor inside
Your names now mean nothing to me
Maybe John, Peter or Steve
I was the one who seemed so weak
All of you destroyed me
My heart yes indeed
Broke it like a mirror that shattered
As your love faded away
I inside remain the same
O so mush
Is it because I love to hard, to easy, and too much
When will I reach the thrill?
Will it be dark and gloom?
No sun to shine happily through
Indestructible in a way
Never happy, never mending it remains the same
I cannot change the world no matter how hard I fight
Yes I can change maybe something
My destiny in life
