»(To Die For) The Night Gerald Godfrey Renounced His Fate and Fell in Love with a Prostitute Named Madeline«
Oh, you should?ve seen it: I was there, so I saw it all
A front row seat and a VIP pass for the bonus cues
Gerald Godfrey, a man of the cloth for 20 odd years
Found his wife of 23 years in bed with another man
Oh, you should?ve seen it: I was there, so I saw it all
Mad as hell, Gerald shot his wife and her lover twice
Burned his house down with both bodies still inside
Sped off to Mexico until things started to cool down
Oh, you should?ve seen it: I was there, so I saw it all
Gerald met Madeline the night he took up drinking
She was into money and glitter, which he was the opposite
Still he took her home and vicious adventures surely followed
She almost got him killed over an ex-boyfriend who was
Trying to win her back, so Gerald shot the ex and the ex?s
Boys that were sitting outside, waiting in the car
Gerald took three shots in the chest, bleeding to death
But, he?s still alive; Madeline left him with the rest of his cash
Jumped in the car with the ex?s buddy named Yancy who she was
Sleeping around with on both of them; Gerald and the ex (Greg)
Driving off into the night, while Gerald and Greg lay dead in a burning house?
(the irony of it all, isn?t it)
