»the rose«

by Anil Kumar Jha

the rose is fairest when its budding new
hope is brightest when it dawns from fears
the rose is sweetest when washed with morning dew
love is loveliest when embalmed in tears

o rose! whom fancy thus endears
emblem of love and hope thru future years!
give me the power of renunciation
to write poems for welfare of human nation!
