»moonlight in her eyes«

by Moemise Motsepe

tonight my tears will roll down your neck
as i bow my manhood to your grace
the spirit will stir as i worship in your arms
saying prayers in praise to your smile
when i erect an altar on your belly
not to make a home in between your thighs, no
but to plead refuge in your soul
to seek asylum in your heart
as i flee from the darkness that lives within
the alleys the shadows of my broken heart
tonight i will call on the moonlight in your eyes
to whisper light and life onto this sterile wilderness
this grave where the gods refuse to rest
tonight i will bury my burdens in the heart of a princess
and watch her change a dungeon into paradise
and dust into diamonds
