»A secret called ridgeway«
I love where I live
my home lies among the hills and the flowers
in the village of the poet
where hills dance like waves
and valleys rise like monuments
into an olympic of heights
to pay homage to the art of creation
to give thanks to the deity
each day a poem floats down the streams
this, this is the way of the ridge
here the eye rests on the same place twice
and each time finds a magic
more novel than the other
where the sunset embraces the moon
and daybreak opens her lips to the sun
for the eclipse of the heart and the soul
here on this mountaintop
I, I see footprints of my gods in the rocks
and hear echoes of genesis calling
this, the cradle where paradise was born
I love where I live
my village
my garden
my jewel
a piece of africa
sparkles secretly at the heart of the universe
ridgeway my ridgeway
ko dithabaneng
