»my bed has been trying...«

by Mojalefa Papo

my bed has been trying
to seduce me since you
left it,
pillows kiss
a sleeping ear
the cotton whispers
moans unclear
since Friday night I?ve
kept it
sanct ? spread your
scent to distant
corners
and tamed the blanket
with a cold stare ? I swear
in the bless of Sunday
?twas wholly warmer
in the folded sheets
that had housed your where

the bedroom too, the
walls that meet the shadows that
fall upon the rug
under my feet ?
the handfuls of air that blanket
my sheets,
(bare to a watchful
ceiling that mimics
my hushed speech)
the curtains that
sway to the rhythm
of heaves
all continue with loveful
fervour

-ever since I asked you
to leave?
