»The World we live in«

by Mamello Monageng

I am no stranger to life
Life found me when I was walking silently in the valleys
And it did to me whatever it is that it does to the living.
It gave to me what it had to offer.

I had dreams, I had plans but I didn?t have destiny.
I looked for love, believing it will fix everything and I found it,
only for me to give.
I also saw what I did not want to see,
I screamed and flooded with tears- why?

I want to change the world, but I am alone.
am I the only one?
Where are the living, are they the once that lead life?
What about those following to live, can they also become the living?

What are the fields of the world we live in, what did I sow?
Did I plough my seeds?
Will I be the one to reap? be held responsible for the world we live in

Can we wish for the opposite of the world we live in?
We had pain, we had joy
We had abundance we had insufficiency
When you wish to fly away
What is the opposite of the world we live in, what can it change to?
When we had it all, can you have one without the other?
In the world we live in.
