»Unfinished Story«

by Marcia Nonkululeko Tladi

It lapses all around her, her life
Things half done, only good enough to be undone
So it seems she witnesses her life unlived
Her breath, unbreathed
She thinks to ask to come back twice
To put a stamp of completion on tasks unfinished
Alas, it comes to turn each time she comes
She has to start from scratch to unfinish
The story of a life not even half-lived
