»Open«

by Alieux Casey

the first time
i saw you
the way was clear;

suddenly
my clouded noisy mind was silent
as if I had been worrying about
finding a key
to a compartment
I needed to get in
not knowing how
until I saw you /

all I need to do
was to grasp you,
to make sure
you were who I had been looking for.

and
how do I know that you are?

My mind has been silent ever since.
