»Miracle of Silence«

by Abdul Milazi

I sit near the spring of night
watching the debris of pain drifting by
whispering

I drink the sun's nectar
and burn my tongue in its golden syrup
I scream above the howling wind and burst my eardrums
the sounds of crickets die
my heart dies with them
singing.

I stand naked before the mighty sea
I taste the salt of my tears as they cascade down my face
glistening furrows of my pain
shimmering
