»A Lonely Sparrow«

by Helen Reynolds

A bird that wants to fly
A bird that can't fly
A bird that tries to fly

Wounded, scarred, the pain
caused by unfulfilled love

She tries, she wants to...but
the wounds – it hurts, the pain
No one wants to understand
Or
Can understand
Alone, by her self, destiny unknown
No plans, no future just alone
hurt,
so simple so true just need some confirmation
of a love once shared of a joy once known.
But not for this sparrow,
not for now,
not for today

Feelings deep, deep down drowned by misunderstanding

Confirmation – affirmation –
that is al that is needed
to still the pain
no words
no actions
no reply
Is this sparrow waiting in vain?

What does future hold?
will this warm glow once that was
be again for this lonely sparrow
Will she know love again like days long gone past?

Who knows? – only the future knows
Only she holds us in her hands
Our destiny our portion of live, Love, sharing
Lets live it to the best we can
Lets allow this little sparrow
to fly to heights not known
to destinies unknown
To fulfill that ultimate plan
To love... to live... to be...
The best she knows she can be...
