Once upon a time
There were two friends...
Smile and Laughter...
Oh what a time it was!
They made a garden
To sing and play
Planted trees of care
Flowers of love blooming everywhere
They worked hard...
And watched the sunsets together
Looking at their garden...
Oh what a sight it was!
It was spring everyday...
With smile and laughter...
Working and enjoying each other's company
The world outside ceasing to exist
All they knew was their garden...
Their beautiful garden
Oh it seemed to last forever!
So many storms blew past
But the garden remained untouched
Unscathed...
Smile and laughter working there happily
Proud of their creation
Drawing envy of others
Oh the songs of admiration everywhere!
Time changes...
And it brings changes...
The visits to the garden getting infrequent
When smile was there...
Watering the plants
Laughter was out
Doing her rounds
When laughter came...
Smile was gone...
The pattern continuing
Oh please warn them someone...
One day came the unexpected
The chilling winters made its presence
The garden froze
No longer flowers bloomed
No longer birds chirped
Spring was gone...
Smile and laughter
Both confused, both surprised
Thought time would melt the ice
And went back home
Oh what a mistake that was!
When the sun shone...
Smile and laughter came back
The ice had melted
But leaving behind weeds
Weeds of mistrust...
The plants of faith dying...
Flowers of love strewn on ground
Laughter said faith's still there
It can't die
Spring will come again...
So they went their ways...
Promising to come back later...
Oh so much blind they were!
Time flew by
The garden still there...
Unkempt, haunting
It was a spirit of itself
Smile had lost her smile...
And laughter became an irony to her name
They parted their ways...
To find their happiness elsewhere...
Laughter found another garden...
And smile formed her own small world...
But their once beautiful garden,
Their garden of friendship
Oh it lay there ruined forever!
There were two friends...
Smile and Laughter...
Oh what a time it was!
They made a garden
To sing and play
Planted trees of care
Flowers of love blooming everywhere
