by John Paragreen

Man in the long black coat
Standing in the doorway
Crying, What good am I
I threw it all away,
Taking Shelter from the storm
Only a hobo in Oxford town
Mister tambourine man
In Cold irons bound.

Tomorrow is a long time
For the Man on the street
Tangled up in blue
Hiding Disease of conceit,
Trying to get to heaven
In a World gone wrong
Like a rolling stone
Po'boy Pressin' on.

Sad eyed lady of the lowlands,
Never say goodbye
Meet me in the morning
Under the red sky

Rainy day woman
Watching the river flow
Don't think twice it's alright
She tells Diamond Joe,
Beyond the horizon
Jokerman meets Isis
But Everything is broken
On a night like this.

Denise tells Handy Dandy
You're gonna quit me
A hard rain's gonna fall
On the Apple suckling tree,
Going to Acapulco
Take a message to Mary
Nothing was delivered
On Paths of victory.

  •  Linda Lubner: "John--What fun to have arranged all these titles to make amusing short stories... and you still could make the even lines rhyme. Bravo!"
