»Sunday Afternoon«

by Andreas Buchholz

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
My ol' mind and soul had sadly gone astray.
You came into my life like a stranger from the moon
On that cold and rainy fifteenth day of may.

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
When I held you in my arms I had to cry.
You fell into my winter, a diamond glow of june,
An eternal rainbow 'neath the dark night sky.

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
I had never seen such magic kind of thing.
I sailed upon the waves of a sweetly swinging tune
From bare naked lands to singing seas of spring.

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
Two brown eyes they shone both helplessly and strong.
They opened my poor heart's vast deserted chambers soon,
I could never hurt you, never do you wrong.

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
I feel love flow in my veins where blood still streams.
I'll change and charm and cheer, I shall crow and I shall croon:
May the stars above be home of all your dreams.

You came into my life on a Sunday afternoon,
And I pray to god you proudly came to stay.
You came into my life like an angel from your moon
On that golden shiny fifteenth day of may.
