»In The Eyes Of A Child«

by Hettie Van Zyl

Through the eyes of a child you can read his heart,
if it is happy and free, or is it broken apart
The way that he looks at you, you can read whats in his mind,
thoughts of pleasure and beauty, or of words so unkind.

A cold teardrop from his eyes is so precious to him.
It shows the hurtful feelings from his inside being.
So if you want to see what is in the heart of an child just look in

his eyes and he will show you his side
of fighting a world he don't understand
a world that takes away his inner feelings so grand
and lets his thoughts shift away and around
lets him wonder where happiness is to be found.

So before you think to hurt the heart of a child, think twice.
The sadness it could bring, maybe of such a high price
that inside him your hurtings may never step aside,
always be there to read in his heartbroken eyes.
