»This Learning«

by Mashell Chapeyama

This learning meaningful or meaningless-
To know the distance of the sun from earth,
Cramming numbers of stars in milky galaxy
Or suns orbiting the cosmos,
Learning the taste of water which is tasteless
Or sculpture in art history.

This education meaningful or meaningless-
Better if it's about modern birth control measures
Aimed at containing population explosion;
Best be green farming and ultimate green fuel
poised to reduce climatic changes;
Not new techniques for producing aphrodisiac concoctions- that come with increased incidences of rape
neither be statistics of homosexuality prevalence in Africa, and African diaspora
